Prior to being hired, I had four interviews where job duties and operations were explained to me in detail. My Area Coach of Operations took the time to coach me, sending me study materials and addressing my vulnerabilities. Tremendous care and support from Panda’s upper management made Panda very appealing.
A day in the life of a Training Leader
When I first get in, I assess the previous day's performance and closing numbers, and look for opportunities to follow up with guests and associates. Next, I have my associates perform food safety walk-throughs, identifying issues in the store and reinforcing food safety procedures.
During peak dining hours, I connect with my associates by working on the line, while slower hours are dedicated to training my assistant managers and managers-in-training. To support the area, I reach out to other stores to see if they need any assistance.
What made you decide to stay and continue to grow at Panda?
What I cherish most is developing others and being developed. I have learned from my Area Coach of Operations to be a caring and patient leader and to support others with my experience and knowledge.
I also love serving guests; my daily goal is making sure every guest is happy and satisfied. Knowing there are daily opportunities for me to learn and grow, and thousands of people’s faces that will be lit up by our food and service, really makes my job meaningful.
How has Panda impacted your life?
Panda has taught me the true value of giving. We practice giving in my store by asking for donations to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network. Together we collected over $6,500 last quarter to support children suffering from various illnesses. This is a modest amount, but it really instilled in my associates and me that giving makes us happier than receiving.
